My Make-up Essentials!

I have to tell you that I am an absolute make-up maniac! I will stop at nothing in my quest to create that flawless air brushed yet natural look.  Thus far in my mission I've come across some products which have become absolutely essential for my survival! Its sounds dramatic but its true! enjoy!

First and foremost any make up fanatic worth her salt knows that you need a good primer,  I personally love 'Smashbox photo finish oil free primer' because it soft but not greasy and it gives an amazing matte look in photos! Its a bit pricey at £22 but its totally worth it and a little goes a long way.  

Next, its on with the 'Kick Ass Concealer' by Soap & Glory.  Not only does this little beauty have the cutest packaging but it also is a 3 in 1 deal comprising under eye brightening concealer, regular blemish concealer and a handy little powder for over the top! I've tried many many concealers throughout my spotty teenage years and I can  officially say that this is one of the best, and an absolute steal at only £10.  

When it comes to foundation, it HAS to be Estee Lauder 'Double Wear' foundation, literally no doubt about it I could not survive on this earth without it, believe me I've tried! This foundation sets me back £27.50 but its so worth it, oh god I've gotten through many a rough day thanks to this gem.

Mac 'Skin finish natural Mineralize powder' was introduced to me by the many beauty blogs, because people have been raving about it for ages! I finally caved and bought it a few months ago and I'm very glad I did! People used to say 'oh its really good sometimes I don't even need to wear foundation, just powder' and I was like yeah right you'll have to prize my doublewear foundation out of my cold dead hands...but on the odd occasion I have went out with just a quick swish of this glorious powder! Miracles do happen!

The lipstick of the moment for me is this plummy shade by Clinique which is quite bizarrely called 'perfect pink'  I don't really think its pink but never the less it is fab and only £13!

My two blush/bronze obsessions are 'Hoola' by Benefit £22, (if your a regular you'll have seen my post on this a few weeks ago) which is the newest product to join my essential list!  I've fallen in love with it so quickly because it looks so natural and its not orange or glittery yaaay!!  For the perfect pink glow on the apples of your cheeks, I would definitely recommend illamasqua blusher!  Its only £13.50 which I think is quite good.

It may not be in cute packaging, thus its not in the picture above, but I cannot overlook my trusty Rimmel eyebrow pencil which has been there for me for many years.  It matches up to its pricier rivals and its a bargain at only £2.99! I go NOWHERE without some eyebrow definition.

This is what I wore today, it was actually quite a nice day and the sun was shining.  Thankfully the Winter weather is leaving so hopefully I can pack away my big coat and thick scarves because I'm so sick of going out all wrapped up like the Michelin man!

I do love a bit of Sunday afternoon shopping...perusing all my favourite shops, maybe getting those River Island shoes or that Hermes perfume I've had my eye on for a while! Unfortunately that wasn't the kind of shopping I was doing today,  this was shopping of the grocery variety.  

I'm attempting to be healthier again so it was a fruit and vegetable mission which is very depressing because I love nothing more than a full roast dinner on a Sunday with a nice chocolate cheesecake for dessert! Never mind I'll be thankful when I have a nice flat stomach in Summer.  Wish me luck! Is anyone else facing diet hell, I would love to read any comments or words of wisdom...

So, this is my first 'OOTD' post! This is what I wore last night for drinks with the BF.  You can see the results of my DIY L'oreal ombre kit which I did yesterday afternoon.  It was actually much easier than I thought and I'm so pleased with the results considering I used to pay loads to get this done in the hairdressers! I would definitely recommend it as it was a bargain at only £6, get it here.

I'm not going to lie, I do not feel on top form today! I have been in bed most of the day actually, I think I took the Valentine's celebrations a little too far on the vodka front.  Ah well, its the weekend!  Speaking of vodka,I got a rather strong 40% bottle as an extra little present from the BF.  But this is not ordinary vodka, it's called 'Pinky' and its actually pink! It says its botanical vodka, whatever that means, and its infused with violets, rose petals and ten other botanical s! Its all very fancy and such a cute bottle, check it out....

Don't be fooled by the cute packaging though, as this vodka packs a punch.  Hence why I am so fragile today!  I'm going to have a nice cosy night on the couch watching films...Bliss.

I'm obsessed with this look, who knew that skater skirts could be so versatile?  I have a few skater skirts now and I would say that since I have a curvy/hourglass figure its better to wear skater skirts with fewer pleats.  

Anyway I'm so excited for the weekend, I'm off tomorrow so I'll be doing my DIY ombre hair!  Fingers crossed it goes well otherwise ill be going out for my valentines night with horrendous hair!!  I'll definitely be putting pictures up in my next blogpost anyway so you'll be able to see the results!

Whoever invented Pancake day is an absolute genius! I've been making lots of jewellery today so was really looking forward to some yummy pancakes with sugar and lemon this evening! Perhaps I shouldn't have eaten five considering I'm meant to be on a diet, but what the hell, its only once a year!

I was off work today, so I decided to do a bit of shopping.  I really fancy getting ombre hair again but don't have the funds at the moment so I decided to buy the L'oreal DIY ombre kit for £6 from boots.  I'm going to do it on Thursday night so I shall definitely do a review post on here!  I also bought Barry M's new 'Gelly - High shine' Nail polish in 'satsuma' (£3, Superdrug) so I'll be doing a review on that too.

I love the pieces that I made today and I think that they are perfect accessories to any Spring/Summer 2013 outfit.

What a busy weekend this has been! I drove to Sunderland to visit family and took my chance to hit the North Easts shops! I didn't have lots to spend, because pay day isn't for a while and I'm STILL recovering from all the Christmas spending, but I had some essentials which I could no longer survive without! 

First stop was Debenhams, where I headed straight to the amazing Clinique counter and bought anti-blemish clarifying lotion (200ml) for £17 and anti-blemish cleansing foam (125ml) for £14.  The two items are my skincare necessities, I'm not spotty but I get the odd blemish and I find that this Clinique duo really keeps these at bay.  I use them both morning and night, first the facial wash then the clarifying lotion which is is used like a toner on cotton wool.

Anyway, Since I bought two products I was given this cute clinique tin full of goodies for FREE!  The set contained a full size lipstick in a natural glossy pink, a full size 'all about eyes' cream (worth £24!!) and tester sized liquid facial soap, mascara, eye shadow quad and UV sun damage corrector.  I was amazed how good this deal!

Then it was on to one of my favourite shops for a bargain...Primark! I ended up getting a loose white letter print blouse £12 (pictured) and maroon leather leggings in the sale for £7. I've not put a  picture of the leggings on because they look absolutely absurd on the hanger but I swear they are so nice on!  That's once you've fought like a maniac to get them on, but hey, that the nature of the leathery beast!  I'm definitely going to wear both items on Friday for valentines celebrations with the BF.  So I promise ill put picture up then!

Aside from shopping, I've also been working on my Kitsch-Kouture jewellery.  Over the weekend I got several new pieces in, one of which is the sweet wish bone necklace (£3.50).  All new pieces will be going on-line tomorrow.

So that was my weekend, but now it's Sunday BOO!  However, on the plus side this week we can look forward to Pancake day on Tuesday YUMMY and Valentines day on Thursday so its not all bad!
